MEDUSA’S MASK
Drea Logos used to be determined and daring. Then she loses a sports award because of a practice that unfairly favors boys. After, she develops a mysterious condition that makes her skin rough and scaly.
The strange ailment baffles her parents and doctors, and fuels bullying, so Drea is sent to her grandparents on a small Greek island. They hope the fresh Mediterranean air and clear Aegean Sea will cure her. But Drea finds that even five thousand miles is not far enough to run from her insecurities.
Trying to avoid the ridicule of the local boys, Drea finds a hidden pathway to a magical island. She explores an ancient ruin filled with unnerving statues and a creepy mask of Medusa. When she puts on the stone mask, Drea feels strong and tough—empowered once again. She confronts her bullies, but there are horrible consequences. Drea wonders if Medusa was a monster, a myth, or just misunderstood. How far will she go in her quest for justice?
